Brief History

Nyandarua Cancer Centre is patroned by Hon.Wanjiku Muhia; Member of Parliament for Kipipiri Constituency; Regional Member of Parliament in East African Legislative Assembly (2018-2022) the first Women Representative in Nyandarua County (2013-2017). She is setting up a Cancer Centre in Kipipiri Constituency. The planned Cancer Unit is estimated to serve its neighbouring Central region counties, Rift Valley region, Northern Kenya Counties and East African region thus serving close to 20 million people.

Why Nyandarua Cancer Centre?

Cancer treatment in Kenya, just like the other countries of the world, is barely sufficient to handle the ever rising number of cancer patients in the country. Currently, the available cancer treatment centres are based in Nairobi, with:- Kenyatta National Hospital which is grappling with long queues of huge crowds of cancer patients who are referred from local and provincial hospitals.

Cancer treatment is too expensive considering poverty level in the rural area.

Reports on funeral eulogies show that most of these patients succumb painfully due to delays in either screening after clinical diagnoses, cancer staging, and relevant management.
